AC problem S90-V90

Yes, it's generally about the same money to put a whole new compressor on as it is to replace the clutch, and when a clutch goes, the compresor is generally not far behind.
www.nostalgicairparts.com has new compressors for less than most places charge for rebuilts.
If you don't have AC tools, you could still do most of the job yourself and save some money.
Take it to an ac shop and have it evacuated( they suck the freon out ), then take it home, replace the compressor, put a new accumulator on, and for about $30 if in hot climate, put a Variable orfice valve in it, use all new orings on seals.
, then take it back to the AC shop and pay them to suck it down and recharge it ( compressor will have oil init, don't let them add more)
Or you could buy a vacuum pump and a set of gauges and do it yourself. Generaly, for what it costs to have a compressor replaced a t a shop, you can buy the parts, and even all the tools and still be cash ahead.
