Power window problem 89 760 turbo wagon 700

I noticed that when my window gets to the closed position, the gear from the motor to the regulator will will continue to spin and skip over the gears making a heck of a racket. The window would not seat itself correctly to the door and would gradually fall down as I drive. I went to the pick and pull and found a new motor/regulator and installed last night. The window does not skip gears and it does fit much better, however there is a small gap on the top aft side of the window starting about 1/2 the way up which creates about a 1/8 of an inch gap at the top. Again it works much better than the latter, but I still get wind in the car. Is there a micro adjust on the regulator, or is it quite possible that the seal around the door needs replaced?
