Power Antenna wiring question 700

Hi,

This question specifically pertains to a 900 series sedan but I'm pretty sure it applies to a 700 series as well.

I've got a third party CD player/radio in my '94 944T. The previous owner installed it and it's a bit of a hack job.

I'm about to replace my broken power antenna unit with a good second hand one I got on eBay a while back but I'm not sure how it gets activated. Is it supposed to go up and down when the ignition switch is turned on or off or is it instead somehow keyed to the stereo so it goes up and down whenever the radio is turned on or off ? I've never had a car with a power antenna before so I'm not sure how they're supposed to work.

If it's supposed to go up and down when the radio is turned on or off then what wire sends the signal from the radio harness ? I can't find a green/red wire anywhere near the radio and the signal line going out to my power antenna is green/red.

Thanks,

Roger
