91, 940, Radio removal 900

In the FAQ there is a post for a CR-814 radio removal. It talks about metal spring tabs on each side of the shafts.

"To the outside of each of the shafts, in the unit, are metal spring tabs. Use a flashlight to see them. Use two very thin screwdrivers to hook each tab and lever towards the middle of the radio. This releases the spring locks, and the unit will slide out. You have to pull out while you lever the screwdrivers toward the center."

I do not see these tabs. Am I missing something? Any ideas how to remove the radio. I am trying to fix my AC control unit.
