Bosch computer interchangeability? 700 1984

Thanks, Art. Where did you get the interchange information?

I have seen the results of swapping the IAC and TPS plugs twice. The first time was my fault, and it wrecked the ECU. The second time, it only burned the IAC driver, leaving the other functions useable.

On this one, I connected a frequency meter to the IAC conector; first one side, then the other. I expected to see a similar frequency on both sides, but didn't. Also, voltages was very different on the two sides. I checked the wires for continuity and they're OK.

It may be that I don't correctly understand how the computer drives the EAC. On most digital devices, I'd expect the computer to switch back and forth between sides at a given frequency, with the dwell on each side determining the valve's position. If it's some kind of analog setup, I'd be way off.

If you know more about these ECU's, or where to find out more, I'd appreciate your letting me know.

Thanks,
E C Yarter
