Hello,

Tired of the Dim headlights on my 86 245 and have read with great interest several articles about adding relays, different bulbs, glass lenses, and many other fixes.

But let me toss this a the wall and see if this might just work.

Can you install the bracket with the headlight assembly from a 84 244GL onto a 86 245DL? The local Pick Ur Parts has an 84 with a good one and it looks tempting to try.

But before I start the project, can this be done without a lot of cutting and drilling. In other words can you just remove the 86 and bolt the 84 in or is there more that a a quick glance shows?

There will be electrical issues behind that of course, but is this even a decent option without lots of body work? I like the look of the 84 anyway.
