1990 240 Fuel Pressure Regulator 200

Hello all:

I've read the 700/900 FAQ about this but I was wondering about your personal experience with this part.

My '90 240 is approaching 250K, all maintenance is up to date. Original FPR. The car isn't as fast off the line as when brand new, but it isn't a total dog either. I checked the FPR, pulled the vacuum line off and no gas came out of the unit. The vacuum line was providing good suction. I took a short test drive with the line disconnected and I didn't notice any difference in performance. I put a hand held vacuum pump on the FPR and it would hold suction, but didn't change how the car idled.

I was wondering if anyone out there has replaced the FPR and if it made a huge difference? Would there be a big difference if it was working and you disconnected the vacuum line?

Thanks for your input.
