Is the 1988 760 intercooler turbo (230b 4 cylinder 8 VALVE) a 400,000 mileage car? 700

Greetings:

I am looking to p/u another Volvo 740/760 series! I have had my share and experience with mostly 740 8 valve non-turbo wagons. My highest mileage wagon was around 450,000 miles at the time when I donated it! And it ran just as strong, and not body rot! All of my others were in similar condition and slightly just under the aforementioned mileage. This turbo (1988 760 turbo/intercooler/air bag wagon with A.T.) that I am looking at is clean, I think it needs an alternator, because it cuts off when the battery inverter booster is disconnected, and for some reasons the hands on the interior clock spins around really fast? It is clean is only has 172,000 miles on it! But again I am limited for turbo experience regarding volvos. What should I know about this vehicle that the Question/Answer links missed? Also can I expect to have this car for another 250,000 plus miles. Also how long do the turbo units last (miles). I know the 760 with the 280 engine is crappy, I had one before, very smooth, but very prone to oil/valve issue problems.

Best Regards!
