ignition switch removal?? 120-130

Pozi;

It might seem that way, but it is NOT, since this is an anti-theft measure, so the ignition switch bone is connected to the armored cable bone, and the armored cable bone is connected to the ignition coil bone...destroy one, and you pretty much destroy the whole assembly...which is kindof the point if its supposed to be an anti-theft measure.

After failing to pick the lock yourself, your other options:

Get a locksmith to pick it, which will allow the lock cylinder to be removed*, which will allow him to make a "key by impression". Having the right keyblank is key...a well stocked, oldtimer LS should have them. Get a price for the package deal.

Ask the locksmith to make a "key by impression" only...again, he needs to START with the correct keyblank...

Total for either should be not much more than $30-50 (not counting the locksmith getting to the car...if you can trailer it to him, you're golden...if a LS has to make a house/car-call, it gets expensive).
