lambda sond and speedometer 200

Thanks for the help.

Checked the spedometer serial; it is the right one (wagon) and as i said i actually started getting this feeling that the reading was high before i changed the instrument cluster (I had been messing around in there trying to fix the consequences of a short in a numberplate light that caused the whole bulb-out relay to melt - still havent figured out why the fuses didnt just blow), so i think we can safely conclude that any inaccury in the speedometer is only in my imaginaton..

But regarding the lambda sond. I seem to have put a diesel instrument cluster in my gasolin car. So instead of the lambda warning light there is this "glow plug symbol for a Diesel". Just connected all wires up at the back exactly the same. Easy permanent fix then is to pull out the lambda wire and forget about that light.

However from before i changed the instrument cluster (and since, allthough the light now has the wrong symbol) I still know that the lambda light comes on ones a month and dissapears with the resetting of the computer. So the more general question remains; why is this? is this something to worry about? if so can something DIY be done?

The car is after all 15 years old (and havent been driven gently; old police car) and the old instrumentcluster read 550.000 km at the time i changed it...
