120 overdive wiring 120-130

Hi Chaps

I know this has been covered and I have seen some previous threads but I'm getting more confused the more I read.

I have a 69 Amazon which nearing the end of a 3 year rebuild. I have added a J type overdrive which now needs wiring.

The following components are in place:

1) Switch mounted in the steering wheel cowling
2) Indicator light mounted to the dash
3) Lock out switch on the gearbox
4) Solenoid
5) Fusebox
6) Relay

I have tried to follow various wiring diagrams both on here and in manuals etc. but it seems that nothing is working. I have been following the V Classics diagram attached but without luck. Instead of the rocker switch I'm using an original paddle switch and seperate dash light. The OD relay I have got has terminals 85/86 and 87 only can someone give me an idots guide to what needs connecting to where? I have never been entirley happy with electrics and now I remember why!

Many Thanks
Brian
