Overdrive relay wiring for 240/automatic...? 200 1992

Hey there folks, this is my first time posting here so I hope things go well. First of all, I bought my 1992 240 sedan in January, two years ago. Things have been a dream since I bought it. Well, now I am running into what seems to be the quirky 240 issues that come up and I am having some trouble remedying an OD problem. Had my OD fail to activate on the highway a couple of weeks ago. Read up on the subject and figured the relay was the best place to start. Ordered a new relay and put it in last week. Drove fine for about a week and now it seems to be acting up again. No OD the other night, pulled over at the next exit, turned off the car and restarted....problem solved. For the moment. No OD again today. After more reading up, seems that the wiring is the next culprit in this dilemma. Looking to remove shifter and check for bare wires/shorts, but kinda nervous about the disassembly and assembly. I was wondering if anyone has a good walkthrough with photos for the shifter wiring repair process. Have found some great walkthroughs for other things but no luck with this. Just don't want to get started on something without having some knowledge on the subject first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. So, a preemptive thanks to anyone with info and a kind howdy to the rest of you here on the board. Looking forward to getting to know some other Volvo fans in my new adventure.

Kindly,

John Crawford
