oil pressure light glows... but slowly?

ok i've dealt with the flickering oil light problem before and now the sender wire appears to be well insulated (or otherwise physically separated) from any metal objects that could be shorting it. however, as of yesterday my oil pressure light goes off after ignition, but slowly fades up to an ALMOST completely on state. its not glowing quite as brightly as it is during the ignition test, but it is not flickering either. any ideas? i thought these things were either on or off =/

handsome greg
