Paint...........What was used on the 240's 200

Hello all,
Yet another paint question, I was told my 91 245 SE has no clear coat. So the rub out is going to be a pain in the tush, the 245 is RED RED, a friend told me to ask the brick crowd if the paint is acrylic or enamel? It will make a differance in the product used to clean it up! the car has pretty bad oxidation on the roof and the hood, he also said by the way it looks it could be the victom of acid rain. (BTW he's a SAAB guy) But, his thoughts were to find out what paint Volvo used on the 240's before attempting to try to clean it up. Thanks in advance
