Front-end noise 700 1990

1990 760 GLE w/ 214K

Hi,

A few months ago I had the front shocks and the control arms replaced and since then there is a "clank" sound from the front-end when I turn right or left. The sound only occurrs once when I change the turning direction, as if something shifts. The mechanic says the shock mounts PROBABLY need to be replaced but he's not sure. He says the front-end is in good shape and very tight, as far as he can see. I don't want to spend $200 + labor if that is not the problem. Any suggestions to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated. (all bushings were replaced about 3 years ago)
