A REALLY stupid Oil Filter Question 200

On Sunday I was changing my oil on the 1990 245 station wagon to prepare for a trip tomorrow (Wednesday). I have done the oil change thing about 40 times between both of my cars so I was having a couple of beers (while doing both cars). I know...Don't drink and work...or drive.

I think I got the oil filter on my traveling station wagon a little tight. The question is this. Do I leave and change it out after I get back or do I try and loosen it a little (might cause problems with the rubber seal). Any thoughts/experience would be wonderful.

BTW, I making about a 2000 mile trip across the "great" state of Texas while on intercession from school.

Todd :-)
