I'm really thinking about it. 200 1988

Hey guys,
As I mentioned previously, I'm really thinking about driving my '88 244 down here to FL sometime in December so I have it down here as my 2nd car and a potential restoration project. The engine sometimes keeps rotating and doesn't start which I think is the starter starting to go, but besides that and a fading clutch (Which still might be the clutch cable...It engages in gear really high.) , she's a great daily driver and I think over the long term, it'd be benefical towards me to have a 2nd car down here that I can just keep in a self-storage facility for like $80 a month which I can afford. Thoughts? Opinions on doing this?

Cute sidenote: My mom told me that the car was completely "dead" when she tried to start her up 2 weeks ago and her husband tried to jump start it with his Explorer. Apparently the 244's battery started "arcing" and it almost "killed him". Wtf? How does one do that? It sounds to me like the battery is dead, right?
