Speedometer question... 200 1992

If you're getting a good speed signal to it, evidenced by the odo still working, then possibly the needle is jammed by something.

Quite possibly, with the broken reset button, a spring came off the pin that the reset button engages. This spring fell UP into the speedo head when you flipped it over to work on the cluster. Now it's stuck to the magnet in the speedo needle motor.

Get a good light and peek in there, looking for a loose spring or pin. Careful not to harm any fine wires in the speedo head.

As for the reset button, the whole unit with its worm gear drive and all that on the side of the speedo can be eliminated- take the stress off the gears and prevent your useless "SERVICE" light from ever coming on again.

Good luck with it!
