95 940 help with in-tank fuel pump removal 900

posted last week about failing/failed in-tank fuel pump, Spook and Chris Mullet provided valuable info. Turns out, there is only ONE fuel pump on 95 940s, and it is in the tank.

Rec'd new Bosch in-tank pump from FCP Groton. Now accessing fuel tank to replace pump by removing the large (approx 10") black plastic threaded cover/cap. Hoses connected to the black cover/cap with clamps are fairly easy to remove. But, one hose, (the pump outlet?) is connected to a hard plastic fitting that supposedly houses some type of quick disconnect. How do I remove it? Or, should I remove the hose from the barbed end of the fitting? Thanks for any suggestions or advice.
