OK, Ron. I don't have to worry about the stabilizer. Didn't think so. I want to start at Fuse 11 and check voltages along the instrument lighting circuit. As mentioned, the rheostat has been by-passed, so I know that's not the problem. It almost looks from that schematic (by the way, looking at the .jpg circuit schematic you suggested, on my computer screen, is way better than trying to trace around the tiny lines on a printed verson.) that the instument lights are in series. I know that can't be. I'll check the lights, but the one's I've already checked have looked OK (no wonder, they've only been operating at 80% voltage). But you're suggesting that they should be getting 12V, so that's the problem I'll try to solve.

Looks like the indicator lights are a separate problem. Man, that high beam thing drives me crazy. I have those 100W Euro burner headlights, and, at twilight, I'm continually having to flip them up and down, so I can see how they reflect off road signs so I'll know which way my lights are. Some indicator.
