Installing Harmonic Balancer 900

I just finished replacing the timing belt on my 940 GL but I'm having some trouble installing the harmonic balancer/crank pulley assembly. There's a notch on the balancer that is supposed to fit over a key on the shaft, according to the 700/900 FAQs. The problem is, I don't see the key and I didn't notice one when I took it off. Is it possible it may have fallen off at some point. If so where can I get one?
