It's ALIVE 120-130

Hello All.

Just thought I'd say thanks. I put the newly rebuilt starter in the Canuck over the weekend, reset the timing and it started right up. So I'm guessing the old starter wasn't able to turn the engine over fast enough (the new one is very much faster than the old). The timing was another issue. I'd been having some trouble with the rotor (tip broke off!) and it somehow got out of whack. I set it to 15 degrees advance at idle (that's where it quit pinging) and it starts great.

Thanks to all the listers for all the advice. While I was waiting for the starter, I had a good look at the fuel tank, fuel pump, cleaned the fuse box connections, checked the coil, reset the carbs etc...

Cheers,
Craig
