Trick to removing ECU connector at bottom edge? STUCK 700

Hi:

Sorry to be such a boob, but I'm taking out the ECU to replace the fan.

I undid the two bolts holding the ECU, but the connector won't let go at the bottom.

There seems to be some kind of locking interface between the milky plastic of the connector and the black receptacle, but I can't get it to let go with a little screwdriver and can't see much!!

It's acting almost like a hinge. I can't get the ECU to move downward much, and the cables into the connector restrict the movement a lot.

GRRRR!!!

I'm terrified of breaking anything to do with the ECU.

TIA
