Knowledge of ABS limited, need info......

Great information, many thanks.

The collision did not involve any of my cars.

Fellow parishioner with a 16-year-old female driver raised the question.

Seems the daughter, licensed for lo these 6 months, was at the stop-signed street. Looked and drove out, only to be T-boned by another vehicle. Skid marks were left by the other vehicle. Both vehicles totalled, air bags deployed, no one hurt.

If the striking vehicle had ABS and left skid marks, that would point towards speeding. But - I suppose some vehicles, even recent ones, do not have ABS. Thus the marks do not imply speeding, dang it. The daughter was at fault. (Now being encouraged to learn the bus system.)

Your experiences will be discussed in my family since we have not fully adjusted reflexes away from the pump-the-brakes reaction.

Regards,

Bob
