BLEEDING BRAKES 444-544

Hello all.

Just had the brake hoses replaced today. The guy obviously had to bleed the brakes. They seem spongier now than before. He said, as I left the garage, 'It may be a little spongy, because there is a small amount of play to account for.

This 10mm play on the brake pedal, i already know about, but its way too spongy before it engages for my liking Worse than when i took it in. I'm not convinced. i really don't think he bled the brakes properly, or changed the brake fluid. i'm guessing he may have used the same fluid again as well or the wrong type of fluid.

I have a 62/63 544, and i wanted to know the proper way to bleed the brakes to get a firm feel to the brakes. Its possible he just didn't do it correctly. Call me suspicious, but i paid good money to have this done. Frankly i'm a little pee'd off about it.

So, does anyone out there have the instructions for the correct way(EXACTLY) to bleed the brakes for my 544. Just out of curiosity, is it done the same way as described in the Volvo Amazon(120) manual, because i have one of those.

Thanking you in advance

Sunil
