Diagnosis, running badly 200

I would like to express my thanks to all here and especially the gentleman from NY who lent my his computer and AMM.
The probelm was running rough, lousy idle and lack of power.
The problem turned out to be a bad air mass meter. The culprit was the thermostat in the air filter box.
This little thermostat routes hot air during warm up. This had failed causing hot air to continously draw into the intake. I guess this cooked the air mass meter eventually to distort the values slightly causing a lean condition.
I had run a voltage test on the air mass meter previously and noted the voltages were slightly lower than noted in the manuals but I thought this was just a slight variation. After replacing several unneccesary other items with no change I changed the AMM and presto.
For you that want to note the probelm sysmptons and cures.
Symptons,
Lousy idle, lack of power, some detonation, lean conditions. Eratic high engine temp. Powere surging occasionly.

Problem found.
Themostat for flapper valve in air box frozen. Let hot air from manifold draw contiously. Cooked the AMM and slighly skewed values downward in voltage.

Thanks all.
