740 gas mileage, psi and all that 700 1992

Mine is a '92 Brick with 220k+ on the odometer, 740 Wagon

The old girl used to get close to 29 miles to the gallon. The past six months, this has dropped to 22 or 23. So, I changed the air filter-no change. Today I put in new plugs. The old ones were put in about 1OOk ago. And, I checked the air pressure on the tires. Here's my question......should one use the sticker on the car for proper air pressure, or use whatever's on the tires? The tires (Continental) say 44 psi. The sticker on the car reads something like 36 for the rear, and 3o for the front. I really can't remember right now.''
