Hi all,

Finally a question that doesn't have me lifting heavy objects, playing with flamible fluids and breaking stuff:

Got a pair of HIF6s, off of a '70 or '71 140 series; fixin to get rid of my Weber DGAV. In cleaning them up I realized I've only got one cold start mechanism, I think it's on the front carb. There's mountings on the rear carb for both a choke cable and the cold start device, but it's not fitted nor is the body pierced like it ever was. Does the forward C.S.M. regulate the fuel flow to the other carb through the connecting fuel hose? Both have the hot start plunger.

It has BAL needles fitted... what's the word on these? I've never heard of them personally. What would be a more appropriate needle for a B20b with decent compression driven with, uh, bouts of vigor?

-edit- totally forgot about this until I read the deceleration post elsewhere. The throttle plates have the little spring loaded valve for extremely high-vacuum situations. What are the benifts and drawbacks to keeping this? I like them in theory, but I've got some valve guide issues too, and I might like to protect them a bit if it means anything. I'd be using them with the B18 style intake and FI manifold.
