Volvo coolant = Valvoline? 900

Here's another question about Volvo coolant.

After reading through dozens of posts about the green coolant vs. original Volvo blue coolant, I went ahead and spent the extra $10 a gallon to buy some from my dealer. That was two years ago. Now, when I'm thinking about changing the coolant, I call the 1-800 number on the Volvo Coolant jug and it turns out it's Valvoline.

So I hold for the Valvoline tech and ask him what the recommended change interval is. He says it's 5 years or 100,000 miles.

Any comments?

On my last Volvo, a 1980 240, the cooling system caused me more grief than all the rest of the car put together... so I'm not going to spare anything on insuring the cooling system on my 95 940 remains intact.

Should I switch the coolant after just 2 years?

Thanks for any input...
