HUGE problem NEED your help! 700

i have a 1989 740 GL with a B230F 2.3L engine.
i started the cold engine this morning and it ideled extremely low (b/t 300-700 rpm) barely ran then stalled after 40 seconds of running at such a low rpm. while it was running i had the gas pinned to the floor but the RPMs would not increase. also i had NO power steering or power brakes.

i'm assuming it could be a sensor....could it be the ECU? :(

i need to figure out this problem because this isnt the first time it has happened. theres no telling when it is going to happen, except for when its cold.....once warm it runs fine with no problems.

thanks in advance for all your help!
