Failing Strut Mounts 700

Hi all:

I've been having some problems with aftermarket strutmounts. One was from Scantech. The other from Napa. They both failed in the same way. The center bushing pulled out of the rubber. I replaced both Scantech (One was still good) with Napa. Thinking it was a Scantech problem. And the same thing happened to the Napa. The confusing thing is, it only happens on the left side.

Rather than replace it again, I repaired it by using the large cupped washer, under the nut (From the original volvo mount). This appears to preload the rubber bushing. Making the mount tight again without any play. I know this is probably a temporary repair. Until I can get some good mounts.

What gives here? Am I doing something wrong? Are those original Volvo washers supposed to be reused with the aftermarket mounts?

I hesitate doing this a third time until I get some good advice.

Thanks
