No power delivered to starter solenoid with key in START position 200 1988

After replacing the seals, timing belt and tensioner on the 88 DL I got no response from the starter with the key in the start position.

Holding the key in the start position and running the gear selector through all the positions several times still did not engage the starter.

With the key on if I run a jumper from the battery to the solenoid the car will crank and run just fine. So somewhere between the ignition switch and the solenoid I have an open.

Is there anything between the ignition switch and the solenoid besides the neutral safety switch that I need to think about?

My arthritic body would like to be able to test points downstream from the ignition switch itself to trace this fault.

Randy
