Remove and re-attach metal bracket at bottom of door window 900 1995

I have a window from an 1986 745 that I am trying to put in a 1995 944, driver's side door window.

I am told that the window is the same. However the metal strip clamped to the bottom of the window is different.

Is there a way of removing the old one and replacing it with the one from the old broken window?
