Replace Power Booster?? 200

In a moment of extreme idiocy, I pulled up on my brake pedal ('88 244) to try to get my brake light switch to respond. It had worked a week earlier, but this time, there was a noise involved - not a good one. Since then, I will occasionally hear a sucking/popping noise from under the dash, which results in the brakes applying themselves. Stepping on the brake pedal will re-engage it, and I can continue driving. Needless to say, I've taken her off the road since this happened.

I guessing that I messed up a plunger/pushrod that lives within the power booster, and will probably have to replace the whole thing, but I figure I'd ask the experts before diving in. I've been riding my bike for the last month, but as winter is fast approaching, I would like to get her back on the road.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments, and feel free to mock my incompetance.
