Based on what you have said, your brake booster has puked. Inadvertant brake application, since the 50s has been a sign of a failed booster diaphragm. Get a used booster off of a boneyard, and be prepared to spend hours on your back in the driver side front floor removing the four mounting nuts and wrist pin. This is a PITA 4.2 job.
