Re trim pieces: corner lights' can be used directly; the headlights' have to be modified.... 200

I've got two '93s, one with JBAuto Euroheadlights, and the other with genuine Volvo/Cibie Euroheadlights. There is a difference, in quality and in lighting.

But that's already been discussed here, so on to the point that I want to make here. It turns out that for the trim pieces (some folks call them the "eyebrows" :-),

1) the ones on top of the parking (corner) lights on US/OEM lamps *can* be installed directly on both the JBAuto and the Volvo/Cibie parking lights without modification. They line up and attach (with one screw) exactly.

2) the ones on top of the (plastic) headlights of US/OEM lamps *cannot* be installed on the Euroheadlights without modification. The easiest approach is to:
a) cut or grind off the mounting tabs.
b) Next, cut slots (about a 1/4 inch deep) along the pieces to correspond to the positions of the retaining clips on the front lens of the new Euroheadlights. The reason is that this would allow you to remove the lens if necessary (e.g., for an internal repair, very likely if you have the JBAuto crap) without having to remove the glue-on trim piece.
c) Now use a good adhesive to glue the trim piece in place on top of the front lens of the headlight.

One last thing -- I painted all the trim pieces black, for a more "Euro" look, instead of the chrome that they were in the US market pieces.
