fuel pump? 200

Hey everybody,

Been having electrical issues with the brick and I`m beginning to think the fuel pump could be involved. Car cranks over hard but no turnover.I recently had to replace the relay in the pass. side footwell(old age) and then again a couple of days ago when I dicovered about a 1/2 inch of water in the relay when I opened it up. Cleaned it up as best I could, let it dry overnite and next day popped it in hoping this would clear up my starting problem. No start.
Got a new one assuming the one that went swimming was no good. Again no start.
What would be the best way to determine whether the fuel pump (probably original)is defective?
I posted about a week and a half ago stating that the car quit while driving home from work. The only other time it did this is when the pressure regulator quit a few years ago.(best that I can remember)I know that this car has some grounding issues but finding my relay with water in it and not being able to correct that makes me look in the direction of fuel delivery.
What do you guys think? I`ll be awaiting your perspectives.
Thanks for your help.
