Installing a Tachometer 200 1992

Like Jorrell started to say:

Remove headlight and dimmer knob. Pry out panel behind. Remove blank panels to right of cluster with a thin screwdriver. Two torx screws on a 92, on each side.

Steering wheel straight, cluster pulls straight out. One circular connector. One semi-circular right under it. One 3-pin right angle deal at the speedo. Break off the white plastic lock over it- the anti-tampering piece. Not needed. Now there are 1 to 3 wires, probably a blue, and a yellow/red maybe. Note their positions on the back of the circuit board. I write on the circuit with a sharpie so I always get them right.

The clock unscrews with 4 or 5 screws. LEave in the similar screws around the edge of the circuit board. Gently pry all around it to free the power pins.

Tach has a black blank plug to go where the clock adjuster went- maybe you got one, maybe not. If not don't worry about it. If you have it, drop it into the hole, and then put the tach in. Press it onto the connector pins. Screw it down with the original screws.

Look at the dash wiring harness. All the instrument wires come from the same place in the main harness. Find a white wire with red stripe. Should have a plastic end on it. This is the tach connection. Your tach should have a terminal marked 1 on the back. Connect this here. If you didn't get a small clock and 3-wire harness, you're all done. Connect everything (yeah I know the circular connectors are no fun) and screw it back into place.
