Vac Hiss On '84 240 200

SO,

fiddled around under the hood and got the hiss sound to stop, when it did, the engine picked up and ran liek a new car!

The problem is after i shut it off, i restarted, and the problem was back, bad hissing sound, and rough rich mess.

I think it was an injector that i touched that made it better, but i cant be sure.

The car sits now waiting, i fiddled with all the vac hoses and nothing changed, so i really think its a leaky injector seal, the guy i bought it from told me there was prob a leaky injector, thats why the rough idle and rich running.

Also put a new battery in, full charge, the car ran fine for an hour trip, started fine the next day, died on the way back, so someplace i am losing charge. He told me it prolly needed a new alternator, are these hard to change?

would someone please leave detailed instructions, or a link to the easiest way to change it.

I have the rich/bad idle and poor mpg figured on the injectors, so any help with the alternator would be great!

Im a poor college kid

This is just a reg 1984 240 no turbo.

Regards,

lee moraca
