1992 240 wagon coolant leak, sluggish acceleration, etc..Help! 200 1992

I have a coolant leak that leaks inside on the drivers side and I can see it on my rubber floor mat. It is a slower leak. Could it just be an old hose that needs replacing, or the water pump?
After I had been driving the other day (not realizing I was out of coolant) whips of dusty air started to come out of the vents. It had little to no smell, kind of a faint sweet smell? What is that? After I filled up the coolant tank, the fumes or whatever they are, were still comming through the vents as I drove. Is that a really bad sign?

I have an issue with my front defrost. It won't switch to the defrost vents when I push in the button on the dash. The air only comes out of my front vents. How do I fix that?

My engine had been running through oil badly all summer and I thought I had an oil leak, but now that I am noticing this coolant leak could it be that I do need a new water pump and my engine was just burining the oil really fast because it was so hot?

My car also has sluggish acceleration. I figured it was because it was a wagon and practically a tank. Then I did some research and considered it might be my catalytic converter. What do you people think?

I appreciate any advice anyone could give on any of these issues! :) Thanks!
p.s. I am a poor college student and cheap methods are always a plus
