Brake light gremlins

I seem to have demons or gremlins in the brake light circuit of my '85 940 SW.

Dash light indicates a bulb out, but walking around the car all lights appear to be working. Asked my sweet other to work the brakes -- the center top lighted as it should, the left tail light brightened as it should --- but the right tail light went out.

I haven't delved into this yet (I hate car electrical problems) so I'll gladly take any advice.

The only thing worse than '85 940 electrical problems is everything re: the engine of my 2004 V70 -- I can't find everything let alone fix it!
