Bad rule of thumb for 12 volt systems. One volt drop per circuit is beyond excessive. That 0.2 volt max. loss should apply to any one leg of a circuit including ALL connections. You'll need to have the engine running to check the charging circuit connections. I don't understand what you mean about waiting to pull the head.
