Okay here is my problem. I own an 86 240 wagon, with a 5-speed manual trans. When I turn the key it will start and run for several seconds before stalling. I can avoid the cold start stalling by increacing the RPM's. Once the car is moving it runs decent, some poor response when accelerating on the on-ramps. This poor response seems to get worse with rain or heavy moisture (this problem nearly disappeared once the Idle Air valve was cleaned out).
These things are not the REAL problem.
The REAL problem is that whenever I push in the clutch and the RPM's decrease the engine will either stall or get so close to stalling that the the dash lights come on but then recovers. I can, again, avoid the stall by increasing the RPM's (but then I need to brake with my left foot and that is always a quick stop) This deceleration problem differs with severity on different days. But is always present.
I have replaced the air mass meter, both fuel pumps, ignition system[cap,rotor, wires] oil, air filter, and I cleaned the idle air valve with PB.
I am really limited on shop time. Does anyone have any clues on what I should look at next? PCV, Oxygen sensor, fuel injectors, vacuum leak??
