Ok, now that I replaced my heater control valve last year, it seems that this year my heater fan motor has decided to die. I have proper voltage at the fuse, and at the heater fan switch, but the motor doesn't work. I also tested the switch with my ohmmeter, and it seems to be in good working order. I've tried applying 12v directly to the motor wires, and nothing happens. How in the world do you get the heater fan assembly out of the car? My Haynes manual couldn't be more vague about this subject... Does the entire dash need to come out to get the heater fan assembly out? If so, how does the dash come out? That's not even mentioned in the Haynes or Clymer manuals that I have here.
A dead heater fan wouldn't normally be a pressing issue to me as I live in south Louisiana, but my girlfriend lives in central Illinois, and I'll be making several trips there this winter and a good working heater (and defroster too!) isn't just a convenience up there... I need to get this fixed in the next 2 weeks, and I can use any reasonable advice that you brickboarders can offer. Thanks,
