I may hate my head gasket! Help! 200 1991

Just changed the head gasket in my 91 240. Boogered up a gasket from FCP Groton, and was forced to get one at NAPA in the interest of time. There was a difference. And yes, you can put a head gasket in wrong if you are dumb enough to flip it end to end!

Worked on it over a 3 day period, started it up, and saw coolant near the gasket seam near the #2 cylinder on the driver's side. Just a thin line of green, right at the gasket edge, an inch or so long. Didn't even drip on the block or anything. It leaked before, but at the front corner passenger side.

I am very hopeful one of you guys can tell me not to worry about it - that the gasket expands. Or it will all settle in. Or the green I saw wasn't coolant, but alien slime of some sort. It's a communist plot. A hallucination.

Help! (And thanks. If it isn't "normal", our 240 may be on the way to a real mechanic next. I am fried!)
