Can the wiper transmission be adjusted? 900

Over the summer I replaced the wiper transmission on my 96 960 and everything was fine. Over the last month the wipers now park about a third of the way up in its travel. The wipers work fine and travel the right distance when the switch is not set for intermittent. When I set it for intermittent the wiper pause at about a 45 degrees. Thats about where they stay when I trun the wipers off. I have to flutter the stalk to get them down near the normal position.
I noticed on the end of the transmission there is a small nut that connects to a white nylon looking rod. I havent messed around with that yet but was wondering if that is an adjustment point.

Thanks
Neil
