SU post-rebuild cold start 'problem' solved 120-130 1965

After fitting ZTherapy rebuilt SU carbs (which by the way are top quality), I began having difficulty with cold starts. The carbs adjusted out easily and the car ran great. With the old carbs I never needed the choke for starting as it would fire right up in the coldest weather or days idle.

Guess what, the worn out carbs had to be adjusted so rich because of the false air entering around the throttle shafts that I was running a mild to moderate "choke" all the time. I have since learned that this is a common situation with the old, worn SU carbs that require a chronic rich mixture just to get through the day.

Anyhoo, after connecting properly and using full-on choke for cold starts, the car fires right up no matter how long it has been sitting.

Hey, wait until I try out my new Colourtune device!
