How is it that this happened to the Chiquita and not to you or wife???
Are your footprints big enough to span the hole?
Had you pulled up the floormats, especially the jute backing?
When it gets wet it ferments and makes acid which rusts them from
the inside out. My guess is that more of them have this problem than
don't. My first warning was when I drove through a fairly deep puddle in
Panama one day (rainy season, 9 months/year) and had a geyser push the floormat
up next to me. I spent the following 5 weekends welding in pieces of 16 gauge
sheet arn. This was not too long after I started wearing bifocals and it was
a royal pain! I've since got different glasses and could probably do it OK
if my knees would take the stress.
I think the guys who know your area are probably your best guide. But you
might want to talk to Yankee Trading in Easton, PA, which is just across NJ,
if I have my geography hat on right. They make Crayolas there and Martin
Guitars nearby. Don Zaroda is also close by, AKA "Zee". Great guy.
