I've had mine spot faced after the surface was ground flat, then I polished the manifold and ported the insides (odd hunks of iron on the inside) then sent it out for ceramic coating. I built my own dual down pipe out of stainless steel (1.75 into 2.25)...should work great when I get it installed.
