fuel line questions 200 1986

Hey everybody,

Got a couple of fuel delivery issues I need some suggestions with. I bought a replacement pump and filter and I`m ready to install. Couldn`t remove the pump and filter by coventional means and lack of leverage. If you`ve ever attempted this job you`ll know what I`m talking about! I decided to cut the fuel lines so I could get the pump and FF mounting unit off the car. Made life a lot easier `cept for one thing-the tank line wasn`t a problem but I was worried about having enough slack on the filter line (to motor)and ended cutting what I though was rubber line.About an inch upline from the banjo fitting where I cut is this thin walled plastic hose. This is what I cut. Mind you, this was covered with undercoating so it made it difficult to tell what material I was going through. I wasn`t far enough under the car and I could have been more careful.
Anyway, is this repairable? I went and priced a new fuel line from the dealer (about $90) but he also told me that fuel line for an `86 245 was no longer available but that it was for a `91. Is there a difference in the application for the years? Is it a one piece unit? Would a 740 unit be the same? I haven`t contacted any PNP yards yet.
Thanks for any ideas/suggestions you may have.I hope to finish this job this weekend which is the only time I have to work on the car.My dealer thinks he can have the part in next day. Thanks for your help.
